Mount Kailash is the holiest Mountain for four religions: the Hindu’s the Jains, The Buddhists and followers of the ancient Bon-religion. This mountain is for them the ultimate pilgrimage destination. The Buddhists believing it to be the centre point of the four continents in the world, While the Hindus’s believe it to be the throne of Shiva. Many Tibetan pilgrims attempt more than one round and most do three. The more devout circle the mountain 13 times and from time to time one meets the true ascetic who performs a staggering 108 circumambulations. Conventional wisdom says a single circuit wipes out the sins of a life time., 108 guarantee enlightenment. Lake Manasarovar, is also named the ‘ Green emerald’ and lies very close to the Mount Kailash. Mount Kailash is by any measure a stunningly beautiful mountain that stands completely alone in all its glory, with no other peaks near it. Its rounded cone is symmetrical covered with eternal snow.
